About us

Teste Cidadania Portuguesa is a small, independent project based in Portugal, made by Fábio Magalhães. We help people prepare for the knowledge test in Portugal's new Nationality Law — mainly grandchildren of Portuguese citizens. Our main audience is in Brazil, so most pages are in Brazilian Portuguese.

Updated .

What we do

  • A free practice test with original questions on the topics the law names, each with an explanation and a source.
  • Plain-language explanations of the law text, quoting the article.
  • A dated status page on the test regulation, with a changelog.
  • A full question bank in preparation, offered as early access. That is how we plan to fund the project.

What we are not

  • Not a public body. We have no connection with the Government of Portugal, IRN, AIMA, consulates or any public body.
  • Not legal advice. We explain what the law says, but we do not assess individual cases. In Portugal, legal consultation may only be provided by lawyers (advogados), solicitors (solicitadores) and other people the law authorises (Law 10/2024).
  • No official questions. No official question bank has been published. Our questions are original practice material.
  • No eligibility checks. We do not tell you whether you qualify for citizenship.

How we work

Every fact comes with a source, preferably the official text (Diário da República, the Constitution on the Parliament website). We always separate what the law says, what is still unknown and what is only a precedent. Details — including our use of AI tools and native-speaker review — are in our editorial policy.

Money and independence

The site has no ads and no affiliate links, and takes no money from citizenship agencies, law firms or the government. The only planned income is the sale of the full question bank.

Who is responsible, and contact

The site is run by Fábio Magalhães. Details of the data controller are in the Terms & legal notice and the Privacy Policy. For questions, suggestions or corrections, email [email protected].
